Visitors will observe the
world’s largest ground package distribution facility in full
operation. Approximately 1.3 to 1.5 million packages are processed
(sorted) daily and sent to UPS facilities across North America.
There are over 65 miles of belts and conveyors and automated
sortation equipment to sort packages. 7,000 employees work in a 24
hour period.
The tour will take about 1- 1 ½ hour total. We will start with a
brief presentation about the building, why we located here etc. and
the actual foot tour will take about 45 minutes.
The tour will involve a lot
of walking, comfortable shoes, (no high heels) should be worn.
Loose clothing should be avoided as well. Camera's and cell
phones should be left in your car. Everyone will have to pass
through metal detectors prior to being admitted to the building.
