An Introduction to Intellectual Property

taught by Liza Heinig, J.D.,

P.E. (D.C.), on Wed., Nov. 4.

 

Overview:  

 

An introduction to patent, trademark, and copyright law will be provided, with an emphasis upon the basic operation of patents as generally encountered by the working engineer.  Attendees will learn how to read a patent document and gain general knowledge on protecting their ideas in a corporate or individual invention situation.

 

Instructor

Liza Heinig, J.D., P.E. (D.C.) is an associate at Tarolli, Sundheim, Covell & Tummino LLP, a Cleveland intellectual property law firm. She is a mechanical engineer who has prepared and prosecuted numerous U.S. and foreign patent applications in technologies including heavy equipment, biomechanical and medical devices, and manufacturing processes and equipment.

ASME Y14.5-2009 GD&T, changes in the new edition

Malcolm Robbie, P.E. ., has over 30 years of experience and is currently involved in the development of space flight hardware for NASA's ARES 1 upper stage.  He taught last spring's ASME GD&T seminar.

This seminar provides a basic understanding of changes made to the 1994 edition with this edition as well as some of the basic principles of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

This seminar fulfills 4 CPD hours.  Soft drinks and a light snack will be provided during a break in the afternoon.  There is a limit of 55 attendees so please send your payment early to insure a spot.  Cost is $100.00, prepaid only.
