Please join us on March 4th to hear Mike Thieneman tell the Whirlpool engineering story of the "Washing Machine". It will start with a wooden tub, a paddle and an electric motor in the early 20th Century and finish with the modern marvel at the heart of todays home laundry. You will find this to be a most fascinating narrative of challenge and solution utilizing "multi-disciplinary engineering" long before it became known by that name. There will be a display of some early washing machines available for your viewing during our social hour. Whirlpool Corporation is the world's
leading manufacturer and marketer of major home
appliances, with annual sales of over $13 Billion, 68,000
employees, and nearly 50 manufacturing and technology
research centers around the globe. Benton Harbor,
Michigan is home to the Global Headquarters as well as
the world class Research and Development Facilities that
