Arkansas Section Professional Development News
By Gerald Loftis P.E, Chair, AR Section P/D Committee
The Arkansas Section of ASME is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring a professional development (P/D) course on December 1-3, 1999, at Russellville, Arkansas.
The course offered will be ASME's P/D seminar #2007-027 entitled "Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning Systems – Sizing and Design." The three-day course covers an introduction to HVAC fundamental theory, heating/cooling load estimation, and system design/analysis. Each participant will receive a copy of the excellent reference text, Principles of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning; authored by the course instructors, Ronald Howell and Harry Sauer, Jr.. The instructors have taught the course many times for ASME’s Professional Development department, and are professional engineers with extensive experience in the subject matter. The text has a wholesale value of $80. Each attendee will also receive a notebook with the course notes, and an ASME certificate for 2.1 CEUs, which is equivalent to 21 P/D hours. The Arkansas Board of Registration requires 15 PDH’s annually for license renewal.
The course will be held in Russellville, AR at the Reeves E. Ritchie Training Center at Arkansas Nuclear One. ASME appreciates this opportunity to partner with ANO in meeting our members’ training needs. Course tuition will be $350 per participant, thanks to sponsorship by the Arkansas Section of ASME. (Normal tuition is $955) The cost may decrease, based on the level of participation. Seats are limited.
Please contact Gerald Loftis at 501-858-4310 or by email to gloftis@entergy.com to reserve a slot, or to get more information on the seminar.
