Online Networking
What is online networking? Why should I use it? What are some of the issues involved with using online networks and social media?
In this presentation, we’ll cover:
• Reasons for online networking, including job search, employee search,
problem solving, sales/marketing, partnering, and building/renewing
friendships.
• How to build your professional and personal network
• Overview of major social networking sites and features -
Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Ning, and others
• Keeping updated, such as through RSS feeds and automated services
like Google Alerts
• Issues with online networking like privacy, what information to share,
networking from work, and which networks to join

Joe Jurczyk has more than 15 years of experience performing instructional design,
