ASME DELMARVA GROUP MEETING MINUTES



                   May 10, 1999; 5:30 p.m., UMES





Executive committee met to prepare nominations for 1999-2000 

officers, to prepare next years budget and other issues. Chair; 

Thomas Haines, Vice Chair; William Hargrove, Secretary; Emin 

Yilmaz and members; Abhijit Nagchaudhuri and Andrew Groves were 

present. 



1. 1999-2000 Officer Nominations



After short discussion, following nominations were approved:





Chair          : William Hargrove, Pokomoke City, MD



Vice Chair     : Thomas Haines, Salisbury, MD



Secretary      : Dr. Emin Yilmaz, P.E., Salisbury, MD



Treasurer      : Andrew Groves and Ray Jackson, Snow Hill, MD 

                 Andrew withdrew his nomination later.

2. Budget Proposal 



Budget was delayed since Treasurer was not present at the meeting.



3. Other Issues



3a. Upgrading the DELMARVA Group to Section or Subsection



Our group is eligible to being a Section. When it becomes section 

or subsection we shall be receiving $250 more from ASME. 

Currently the group is receiving $500/yr from Delaware Section 

and $225/yr from ASME. In addition we shall be able to have two 

members attend the ASME Administrative conferences free instead 

of only one. Since upgrading to section will bring additional 

administrative responsibilities, such as arranging conferences, 

Executive Committee decided to propose to upgrade the Group to 

Subsection. 



3b. Plant Trip



Mr. Haines reported that he arranged a plant trip to Kary Asphalt 

Co. Trip will take place on June 24, 1999, 6:00 P.M. After plant 

trip we shall have dinner at Adams Ribs in Salisbury. 



Meeting was adjourned at about 7:20 P.M.
