ASME DELMARVA SUBSECTION MEETING MINUTES
September 12, 2000; 6:00 pm
UMES, Department of Technology
The executive committee met to discuss next year’s budget and future activities.
Bill Hargrove, Ray Jackson, Dr. Yilmaz, and Andrew Groves were present.
1. 2000-2001 Operations Budget
Ray Jackson, as Region III Vice President, has given permission for the Region’s budget proposals to be turned in by the end of September instead of the end of August.

2. Items of Mention
Industrial Appreciation Awards were suggested at the meeting for two corporations: UMES for their support of the Student ASME Section, and NSI for their support of Bill Hargrove in his activities.
The Wye Mill was proposed as an ASME landmark. This mill operation dates back to 1672, having supported the Revolutionary Army while at Valley Forge. A member has yet to be contacted to write the proposal.
3. Activity Planning
The previous year’s activities along with the proposed activities listed in the 2000 Delmarva Subsection RAC report. Dates will be attributed to the proposed activities at a future meeting after several companies have been contacted for their public relations.
Bill Hargrove will contact the Peaker Power Plant in New Church, VA
Dr. Yilmaz will contact Black and Decker in Easton, MD
Interest, practicality, and communication of tours was discussed. Several items were proposed. Tour suggestions, and activities could be requested via the Delmarva ASME website. Also, a monthly notice of meetings and activities could be sent out more personally via email and postage to keep members informed.
