HCES Business Derick Kam:
- No
meeting since Engineers Week Banquet
- Next
meeting April 7, 2009
Student Section Anna Tomalik, Student Section Chairperson:
- New
officers have been elected. She will provide names.
Montgomery Fund and Competition Derick Kam:
- There
is a question on the set up of the fund. Not sure if fund under its own
tax- exempt status or ASMEs. Is there a separate non-profit Montgomery
Fund?
- Currently
plan to request checks made out directly to the student winners.
- Ed
Chang will contact Kent Murata for a meeting to learn more about the fund
set up. If Bob Lee and Gary Ishikawa were available for the meeting, it
will be even better.
- May
Montgomery Competition: Anna Tomalik will find out date, time and place
from Dr. Nejhad.
2009 Ballots and Surveys Ed Chang:
- Responses
were very poor; worst than previous years.
- Results
will be distributed during next meeting.
Tour USS Russell Ed Chang:
- Date:
Saturday, March 28, 2009, 10:00 a.m.
- Alan
Lloyd arranged for this tour through the Navy League.
- We
have 20 people signed up.
District D Leadership Conference, May 8 & 9 Ed Chang:
- Ed
Chang listened in on telecon on 3/23/09.
- Conference
will be at Portland State University, accommodations at the Hilton
Downtown. Reservations can now be made at the Hilton. Registration is $30.
- Agenda
was discussed with main topic on burnt out volunteers.
- Derick
Kam will decide if he can attend.
High School Career Fairs:
- The EC
voted to procure promotional pencils for the fairs. Ed Chang will procure.
Next Meeting: May 5. Topic: Fall 2008 P.E. Refresher Course
Review by participants.
Alternate Meeting Place: A different meeting place was
discussed, and the EC decided to stick with HECO cafeteria. Subject was brought
up because of the increased security measures to enter the HECO facilities.
