Welcome

Welcome to the Holston Section

Greetings from the Holston Chapter of ASME,

Do you like working with robots?
How about guiding a team of high school students to build a robot?
The FIRST robotics competition is in need of mentors and supporters. It is a 6-week build-off leading up to a competitive event for local high school students. The parts are ready- the only thing missing is you!
This is a great opportunity for ASME to support local engineering related education at an early level, with positive PR in the local community.
Please contact Larry Bailey at 423-224-0945 today for more information.

Coming soon: Science Bowl!
Proposed Date: Wednesday, Feb. 15th 8:30-1:00PM
Location: Eastman Employee Center, Kingsport, TN
Participants: Local high schoolers in teams of 4-5
Format: Identical to past competitions. Available online: http://www.scied.science.doe.gov/nsb/default.htm)

You are needed!
Are you a gadget guy? How about helping to set up and test the buzzer system? Love the limelight? How about being a moderator? Do you have sharp attention to detail? How about being a scorekeeper or timekeeper?
Like to deal with people? How about being the school liaison? Like to do vital work behind the scenes? You can develop the questions or be a judge. We could also use a couple of flexible people to sort of be there and fill in where needed.

Anyone interested in supporting the competition should contact:
