Subject: Northern Virginia ASME Section Reactivation Progress
Back in May
of this year I wrote to tell you that we are trying to reactivate
the Northern Virginia (NOVA) ASME Section which has been dormant
for the past few years. During the summer, a Leadership Team of
recent Section Chairs and Leaders met to identify possible speakers
and locations for meetings. After reviewing the roster for our
NOVA Section, it is obvious that we are quite widespread without
a membership density in any particular area. Our members range
from Harrisonburg to Winchester to Warrenton and Manassas and
all places in between.
We have contacted several interesting speakers and identified
interesting site visits but now we need to know if there will
be an audience for them. To try to determine how we can serve
the NOVA members, we would very much appreciate your response
to the following short list of questions by October 25. Thanks
in advance for your response and suggestions. We are working to
get the ASME Section active for your benefit.
Regards, Tom Rudy
Chair ASME NOVA
1. We are considering holding one meeting in each of the following
towns (Harrisonburg, Winchester, Warrenton, and Manassas) or at
a plant tour site near one of these towns. Would you attend a
meeting in any of these locations? Multiple meetings?
2. Current plan is to hold meetings on a Tuesday, a Wednesday,
or a Thursday evening from approx 6pm to 9pm. Do you have a preference
as to which evening? Would you attend at these times? Would you
attend a Lunch Time meeting?
3. Would you be willing to help organize (help find local venue)
a meeting or tour in your home area?
4. Any additional suggestions or comments?
