  • An announcement will be mailed to members by first class mail, as decided at this Section meeting

  • Sid Goodman will prepare an article for our Web Page on the Shot Peening seminar presented by the Metal Improvement Company, Inc on June 13th.

Programs to be considered:

  • Sterling Mine – Lisa Laplante’s suggestion

  • Wine tasting event – Lisa Laplante’s suggestion

  • Possible special award to PSE&G some time in the fall (coordination with Norris Allman)

  • Recommendations from members are welcome

Website and Webmaster:

Submissions to the Website by members or student chapters should be in Front Page or a Microsoft Word document.
Before items are posted on the site, they must be proof read.

Special articles for the website are welcome.

Treasury Report:

No formal report. Karen has arranged to get sign-off papers for our Certificates of Deposit from Keith Olasin.
Arnold Pristernik volunteered to be Treasurer for the new season.
Karen has been temporarily handling the vacant Treasurer’s position.
Karen has sign off authority for Checks. Sid is a back-up signatory.

Training Trainers (ASME reimburses expenses):

There was a semi-annual meeting for training trainers June 13th to June 15th in Atlanta, Georgia.
This was to train trainers for regional student groups and for administrative conferences.
Karen reported that there was a good turnout. Kerry Carlson is the new trainer for our region.

The intent of the program is to give organizational skills for conducting ASME meetings and events.

General topics also cover leadership, team building, and management skills.

There are Regional Student Leadership Training sessions on October 4 in Puerto Rico, and also on October 18 at Manhattan College.

Honors and Awards Dinner:

Invitations have been mailed out for the June 26th, 2003 dinner.
Invitees will include 25, 35, and 50 year members, past chairs, and present Section Directors.

Much of this Section meeting was devoted to planning details and a review of who should be directly contacted by phone.

Karen is preparing award certificates.
