Volunteer Opportunities

1.  Volunteer on the Oregon Section board.  For an opportunity to gain leadership experience in a friendly environment, consider joining the board of the Oregon Section of ASME.  There are opportunities to plan or support events, meet industry leaders, and work with engineering experts.  Come by an ASME board meeting and we will match your talents to the openings.  Novice leaders can be paired with experienced members on our board, providing valuable mentoring experiences.  Seasoned leaders will have a chance to share their experiences and improve ASME. We look forward to seeing you!

2.  Volunteer at the Oregon Food Bank.  New Day!  ASME partners with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) on the last Thursday of each month, from 6 pm - 8:30 pm, at the Oregon Food Bank, 7900 NE 33rd Ave.  Volunteers from ASME, SWE, and other organizations repack bulk food, sort canned food, and label packages.  This is a great opportunity for engineers to help reduce hunger in Oregon while networking with other engineers.  Ample free parking is available in a well-lit compound.  If planning to attend, please send an "RSVP" to Julie Dawson at joulesda at yahoo.com .  For more information, please visit www.oregonfoodbank.org .
