Plant tour of Harbec
Plastic Inc
March 28, 2006 <--- NOTICE NEW DATE
Our host and tour guide will be Bob Bechtold, the founder and President of Harbec. He
will be able to answer all questions, not only what, but why!
Harbec does engineering, created prototypes, precision tooling, and
complex injection molded parts. They have been in business for over 25
years.
As part of our visit, we will see and discuss the following topics as
Harbec has addressed them.
- Renewable energy
- CHP/energy efficiency
- Co-mingle plastic waste
- Water management
- Green vehicles
Harbec charges there electric fleet vehicles over night while the plant
demand is low.
Here is the new windmill. Also note the solar cell panel on the sign.
These are some of the
natural gas mini-turbines. In the bottom right of the image is the
system that make the cold air for air condition.
