ASME The Rochester Engineering Society has some important information for you. They are calling for nominations for the 2007 Leo H. East Engineer of the Year. The nominations are due no later than Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Details can be found on their website. On Monday, February 11, 2008, we will be touring SPX Process Equipment with ASM. Process Equipment is a division of SPX and were know as Lightnin. They are the worlds largest and leading designers and manufacturer of industrial mixers and aerators. The initial company started in New York City in 1923 under the name Mixing Equipment Company ( Mixco ). They have been at the Rochester location since 1943. There are 340 employees and work production on three shifts.  With over 80 years of unrivaled experience in mixing technology, process knowledge, and technological innovation, LIGHTNIN enjoys a global reputation for durable, long-lasting mixers, agitators, aerators, and flocculators for fluid processing systems. We offer a full spectrum of impeller designs for diverse applications. In addition, we offer a worldwide service network, mixer repair, gearbox repair, and replacement parts program. Look to LIGHTNIN for knowledge, technology and service excellence. The facility is 275,000 square feet with 200,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing.
