KAYEX
PLANT TOUR
Ed Przybycien, Engineering Manager
Kayex Corporation manufactures and develops crystal growing equipment for the semiconductor materials industry. That means that Kayex serves the semiconductor industry by providing production equipment for materials such as single-crystal silicon, gallium arsenide, and germanium. These materials are made in our Kayex's HAMCO and FX (formerly Ferrofluidics) high yield crystal growing furnaces. The crystals are later sliced into thin wafers and often polished. The wafers become the starting materials for integrated circuits such as memory chips, microprocessors, logic chips, discrete devices, photovoltaic (solar) cells and others.
