Developing future leaders is the mission of the United States Military Academy (USMA) located at West Point, New York. Dr. Bailey was one of a handful of female, civilian faculty members at USMA where she taught over 500 cadets while mentoring and sponsoring dozens more. Dr. Bailey joins the faculty at Rochester Institute of Technology this year as the Kate Gleason Endowed Chair. During this presentation, she will provide an overview of the USMA experience while sharing her perspective on how West Point accomplishes its leadership development mission and her thoughts on how this approach can be modified and adapted at civilian universities in order to develop future engineering leaders.
