Welding Stainless Steel

Technical Director for Stainless Steel and High Alloy Development at Lincoln Electric Company.
Dr. Damian will talk about the welding metallurgy of Stainless Steels. This includes the families of stainless steels: martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, precipitation hardening, and duplex alloys. Metallurgical features of each family will be discussed in relation to how these features influence weldability. At least one problem area in each family will be covered to show how sound welds with appropriate properties are obtained.
This is a joint ASME, ASM, and AWS activity.
