Rochester New York Section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers
ASME started the E3 Fair and Needs your help to keep it growing !

Please consider volunteering an hour a week for the months of February, March, and April, introducing middle-school students to the world of engineering, by serving as a mentor for the Annual E3 Fair.  (E3 stands for Engineering, Exploration, and Experimentation.)

The event consists of a competition and hands-on technology displays. Student competitors build their own Science Exhibit, or a predetermined project from a LEGO kit, with help from a sponsoring teacher and a technical mentor (You!).

The fair is an annual event whose objectives are to increase technical competency, encourage teamwork, and expose students to the challenges of the engineering profession.

As a mentor, you will be asked to stimulate the minds of students by demonstrating problem solving techniques and applying engineering principles.  The mentoring effort is casual; you do not need a masters or doctorate degree and do not need to have all the answers; just an
open mind and the desire to help students find their own solutions.
The E3 Fair takes place Tuesday, April 28, 1998 (10-2pm and 6-9pm) at Rochester Institute of Technology Ice Arena Please Volunteer
