REPORT:

The event was a success.  It was attended by approximately 35 students and engineers who were treated to sage advice from five guest speakers representing four employers.  The guest speakers were:  Phil Sluder of TriAxial Design and Analysis, Thane Lundberg of the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, Whitney Bice and Prescott Johnson of Aerotek Recruiting Services, and Simon Meth of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems.  The Executive Committee of the San Diego Section of the ASME would like to express its most sincere gratitude to the guest speakers and all attendees for their participation in the event.  See pictures by visiting http://asmesandiego.shutterfly.com/




GET CONNECTED WITH ... MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEERS

San Diego Section presents a face-to-face meeting connecting engineers with similar interests.  The first in the series is to connect Mechanical Design Engineers.  However, all mechanical engineers are welcome to attend.

Date:  Thursday, Oct 22, 2009

Place:  UCSD Engineering Building Unit 1 (EBU-1, Voigt Dr & Engineers Rd), Room 2512 (2nd Floor, The Henry G. Booker Room)

Parking:  Purchase a night parking permit at the Hopkins Parking Structure (Hopkins Dr & Voigt Dr).  Map.

Program:

          6:00 to 6:30 pm       Food

          6:30 to 7:00 pm       Talks by potential employers

          7:00 to 7:30 pm       “Elevator” speeches by job seekers

          7:30 to 8:00 pm       Social
