Our first plant tour for 2009 was a success thanks to a remarkable turnout and interest demonstrated by our local members, combined with the outstanding planning of New Hampshire Ball Bearings.
The tour began with an introduction to the extremely precise manufacturing process, while our members enjoyed dinner complements of NHBB. Feeling fully replenished after the meal and ready to ask all types of questions, the engineers broke into smaller groups and toured the plant floors for over an hour.
The groups walked through the entire production process, from raw material receiving to finished product sales. Our members saw the manufacturing process, machines, clean room, and quality control measures required to meet the demanding tolerances for these precision high speed bearings.
The ASME thanks New Hampshire Ball Bearing for all the hospitality that they have extended toward the San Fernando Valley Section in helping us to have a successful recovery in representing over 400 professionals in the immediate area. Our best to NHBB in their success in future business endeavors.
