Pre-event information

On March 18, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, CSUN will be welcoming members of the San Fernando Valley Section Executive Board to the campus to discuss "Building a Successful Career in Mechanical Engineering". Each speaker will give some pointers based on their own career experiences, and a networking opportunity will be available for some informal conversations after the program is complete. The knowledge that senior mentors have about career building can be especially important when job searching in a tough economy.

The panel will consist of the following individuals:

SFV ASME - Chairman
George F. Tirone, PE - BSME / Michigan Technological University, MSME / Cleveland State University, PE OH/CA, (2) patents, 29 years engineering accomplishments in aerospace fuel systems, motors, generators, precision optical and electro-mechanical actuation devices. Applied practical design experience in the automotive, commercial, industrial and aerospace industries. Five time ASME chairman, Dayton and first term for San Fernando Valley.

SFV ASME - Executive Board Advisor
Timothy D. Hinerman - BSME, MSME / Colorado State University, 4 years engineering experience with accomplishments in combustion dynamics, stability, and performance. Currently serving as chair of information and communication as well as a member of ASME Knowledge & Community sector board of directors.

SFV ASME - Treasurer
Lois Holtzclaw - BS Engineering, CSUN Alumni with 24 years engineering experience in propulsion at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Palmdale, CA. Design experience includes propulsion installation, wind tunnel testing, and flight test support. ASME and San Fernando Valley Executive Committee member for 24 years.

This event will take place in JD 1118. Pizza and drinks will be served at 6:30 pm, program starts promptly at 7 pm. This event is focused mainly on the CSUN chapter as a student section event, but if there is strong interest, please contact the Chairman or call 661.702.5753 to discuss possible attendance.
