Our Silver State ASME Section is always in need of volunteers to help set-up tours, arrange dinners and award ceremonies, lend support the UNLV student section, write articles, edit newsletters, maintain the website, and you name it. Beyond our section, ASME International has interesting volunteer opportunities that will allow you to travel and meet other engineers across the country. ASME International has also created a Volunteer Opportunities Bulletin Board. To volunteer with the local section, please contact Justin Young to lend a hand and gain a little piece of our heart! |

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a multinational non-profit organization, that aspires to transform culture, making science, math, engineering, and technology as cool for kids as sports are today. Visit the USFIRST website for details. Every year FIRST hosts a high-school robotics competition in Las Vegas. Volunteers are needed for a six week period to mentor the approximately 14 local high-schools that participate in the competition. Volunteers are needed each January for the robot build, but fundraising activities start much earlier. For more information, contact Justin Young. |
