Product Design Engineer
The successful candidate will have earned at least a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and have good knowledge of materials and structural design design, CAD and 3D design practice (Pro-Engineer), interpersonal and project management skills plus the desire to become part of a growing company. Excellent communication skills are a must. Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials (specific experience with molded plastic, die cast aluminum or zinc, or wood) is strongly preferred.
Product Design Engineers will have as their principal duties: · Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and design (or redesign) of products and product components; · Develop original designs or adaptations requiring specialized experience. · Work with other engineering or production disciplines to ensure proper implementation of design. · Prepare sketches or complete detail and layout drawings from verbal or written instructions on the most complex products or plant equipment. · Research and investigates new materials, methods, production processes and suppliers that benefit part design, function and production of systems office products.
The available positions are within the Plastics, Systems, and Wood Case goods Divisions of the most admired company within the office furniture industry. Design engineers will experience much cross function among various departments including manufacturing, research, product and design.
