“Machinery condition monitoring and fault diagnosis” by Dr. Q. Sun, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Calgary.

This presentation summarizes the speaker’s research projects and results of the past decade in machinery fault diagnosis. Methodologies including pattern recognition and advanced signal processing for feature extraction and signal denoising will be presented. Applications in bearing defect diagnosis, drill wear detection and monitoring, and manufacturing parts inspection will be exemplified to indicate the challenge and complexity of the problem and the idea of the developed techniques.
