Trinidad and Tobago is a twin island state and is the most southerly of all the Caribbean islands. Trinidad and Tobago and the rest of the islands in the Caribbean are more known for sun, sea and sand but Trinidad itself is home to quite a large number of industries including a significant energy sector, oil, gas, manufacturing, service and maintenance.

The ASME Trinidad and Tobago Group was formed in 1999 under the chairmanship of Aldwyn Lequay. The Group now comprises 219 members throughout the country. The Trinidad and Tobago Administrative Committee oversees local administrative issues and is made up of volunteers from various industries.

The objective of the Administrative Committee is to promote the technical and professional development of the members of the ASME residing in Trinidad and Tobago . This is achieved through professional development training courses, meetings, conferences and other forms of communication, by encouraging members to prepare or discuss papers, through study of local engineering practice, and through close coordination with the ASME organization.

Objectives are of the ASME Trinidad and Tobago Group are:

  • To support the country to achieve “developed nation” status in the required time frame

  • To achieve closer personal acquaintance and spirit of cooperation among mechanical engineers.

  • To provide for cooperation with other local engineering societies in matters of common interest.

  • To establish and strengthen the presence of ASME in Trinidad and Tobago

  • To promote the discipline of mechanical engineering as it applies to the well being of the country

This website is here to expedite communication among the administrative committee, our members and industry leaders, and to inform you ASME Trinidad and Tobago Group’s activities, up-coming events and to provide a link to ASME resources. I urge you to take advantage of the wide range of benefits ASME has to offer and use this website to help further your ASME and career goals.

ASME's greatest strength is the diversity and talents of its membership. If we are to continue to keep moving forward as a Society and a profession, we need your input and support.
