Quick Steps - Section Operations Timeline
Here's a quick step view of the sections operations timeline over the course of a program year
APRIL: Recruit or nominate potential leaders
Reach out to members by email, or post an update on social media
MAY: Select a section leadership team (SLT) for the new year
Sections have seven (7) positions on the leadership team: Chair*, Vice-Chair, Secretary*, Treasurer*, (3) Member-at-Large. Roles with the section are one-year terms. *Chair, Secretary & Treasurer are required positions
JUNE: Complete Section Update and agreements
Provide the new leadership to us in a Section Update, and send new leadership a volunteer agreement to complete. (Links to forms are available in the Resource Library.) Section Updates and agreements are due June 30th. A new agreement is required every year for the incoming section leadership team.
JULY: Start conducting activities
Start planning and conducting activities with your team, at least one activity per quarter. Submit your planned activities in the required Activity Form (link available from the Resource Library). Submitting this form also lets the section add activities to the website or request an email to members.
AFTER EACH ACTIVITY: Provide an after-activity report
Provide an update on your activity so we can count your participation in the ASME annual report. After-activity reports are required to participate in the Section Recognition and Grant Programs.
